Technical Aspects

For a Tulu movie ‘Anarkali’ is technically good. The cinematography, editing, and sound design are well-executed giving the movie a polished look. The filmmakers have made a sincere effort to improve the technical quality, which is evident in the overall presentation. Compared to other Tulu films ‘Anarkali’ stands out with its advanced technical aspects although there are moments where the execution could have been better.

Performance

The performances in ‘Anarkali’ are commendable. Vijay Shobharaj Pavoor who plays the main lead delivers a good performance. It’s refreshing to see him in a lead role and he certainly proves that he deserves it. The rest of the cast including Madhuraj RJ, Naveen D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Deepak Rai Panaje and Ravi Ramakunja also do justice to their roles adding depth to the movie. However, the movie’s comedic elements, which are a staple in Tulu cinema often fall flat failing to evoke the intended humor.
