Plot
“Powder” is a fun movie that takes place in the city of Mysuru. The story starts with a big shipment of illegal powder from a Chinese dealer named Jeev. The powder is given to Annaji (Rangayana Raghu) to sell but things go wrong when the powder goes missing. Instead it is replaced with regular talcum powder, which ends up in a supermarket.

Surya (Diganth) and Karan (Anirudh Acharya) are two carefree friends who find themselves in the middle of this mess. Surya works at the supermarket and when he and Karan learn about the missing powder they see a chance to make money. They team up with Nithya (Dhanya Ramkumar) a nurse who Surya likes and Mallika (Sharmiela Mandre) who is also looking for the powder. The movie follows their crazy adventure as they try to find the powder.
Performance
The actors in “Powder” do a great job. Diganth who plays Surya is funny and charming. Anirudh Acharya who plays Karan is a good match for Diganth and their friendship on screen is fun to watch. Dhanya Ramkumar and Sharmiela Mandre also play important roles not just as side characters. Sharmiela’s action scenes are impressive.
The experienced actors Rangayana Raghu, Ravishankar Gowda and Gopalkrishna Deshpande are very funny and help keep the movie exciting. Nagabhushana who plays Bruce Lee adds more humor and Jaggesh’s narration makes the story more interesting.
Technical Aspects
“Powder” is well-made with good technical work. Director Janardhan Chikkana in his second movie after “Gultoo” mixes comedy and suspense well, keeping the audience entertained. The second half of the movie is especially engaging.
The cinematography by Advaitha Gurumurthy and Shanthi Sagar shows Mysuru beautifully making the movie nice to watch. The visual effects and set designs, especially during key scenes are done well and make the movie more enjoyable.
Vasuki Vaibhav’s music fits well with the story and doesn’t overpower it.

“Powder” is a decent movie that offers good entertainment especially in the second half. It has a well-done story, strong performances and nice visuals. While the comedy may not always be perfect, the movie is still decent watching, especially if you enjoy light-hearted fun films. If you’re looking for a movie to watch with friends “Powder” is a good choice.
