The movie shows their fight to survive against this evil spirit in the haunted forest.
Rating: 3/5
Performance :- The actors in “Pechi” did a good job. Gayathrie Shankar who plays Meena is especially good. Dev, Preeti, Mageshwaran and Jana also act well as the other friends. Bala Saravanan usually a comedian impresses as Maari, the guide who warns them about the dangers in the forest.
Technical Aspects :- Technically “Pechi” is well. Parthiban’s camerawork beautifully captures the spooky forest making it feel like a character in the movie. The art direction by Kumar Gangappan adds to the film’s authentic feel. The minimal background music at the beginning helps build tension though the movie struggles to keep this tension going.
Positives “Pechi” has goodvisuals and creates a creepy atmosphere. The forest setting filled with superstition is well done and interesting. The film avoids typical horror cliches offering something fresh. The performances especially by Gayathrie Shankar and Bala Saravanan add depth to the characters and make the story engaging.
What Didn’t Work “Pechi” starts strong but loses momentum. The use of flashback scenes to explain Pechi’s past feels overused and slows down the story. The horror elements become predictable and not very scary after a while. The backstory of Pechi is not clearly explained, leaving some parts of the plot unclear.
Overall “Pechi” begins with a good premise and visuals but struggles to maintain its momentum. The horror becomes predictable and the story isn’t fully clear. Despite this the performances and technical aspects are strong, making it a decent watch for horror fans. The movie could have been better with a tighter story .
